NYPD 79 Precinct Detective Squad

It’s been a busy few months here at Huntzman Enterprises, and as promised, we’re finally getting caught up and sharing some of the projects that have been coming off the design table.

First up is this custom NYPD 79 Precinct Detective Squad PVC patch.

Located in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, the 79 Precinct provided plenty of inspiration for a design that needed a little attitude—and we definitely wanted this one to have its own personality.

We gave this patch an old-school noir detective feel. The centerpiece features a skeletal detective in fedora and trench coat, emerging from the darkness and presenting an NYPD Detective badge.

The predominantly black and charcoal palette keeps the design dark and subdued, while the gold, blue and red accents give the important details just enough contrast to stand out. The bottom finishes things off with the motto: “DO OR DIE BED-STUY”

Produced as a 4.5-inch-high PVC patch with Velcro backing, PVC allowed us to retain the bold dimensional appearance of the artwork while creating crisp details and strong separation between the individual elements.

This was a fun one to take from concept to finished product, and it’s just one of MANY new projects we’ll be sharing over the next couple of weeks.

Some will be custom creations. Some will be new additions to the Huntzman Shop. And a few surprises may be mixed in along the way.

So keep checking back—we have a lot of catching up to do!
