NYPD Honors America’s 250th Birthday
250 years. One nation. And a milestone worth commemorating.
As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of American independence in 2026, Huntzman Enterprises wanted to create something special to recognize the occasion through the history and traditions of New York City and the NYPD.
The result is our NYPD United States 250th Anniversary Woven Patch—a substantial 5-inch-high commemorative design celebrating America’s Semiquincentennial and the generations of New York’s Finest who have served along the way.
New York City — Past and Present
The design brings together New York City past and present as a tribute to America’s 250th birthday.
At its center stands an early New York police officer, representing the history and traditions of New York’s Finest. Behind him, the design moves across generations of the city—from the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge to the modern Manhattan skyline and One World Trade Center.
An American flag fills the background alongside the familiar NYPD shoulder insignia, while banners carrying 1776 and 2026 frame the central “250 YEARS” anniversary designation.
Across the top and bottom, the theme of the entire piece is summed up in one line:
“NEW YORK’S FINEST — HONORING THE FINEST NATION.”
Produced as a 5-inch woven patch, the woven construction allowed us to retain the finer architectural details, historical elements and lettering that make up the overall design.
The Limited First Issue
The original version was produced as a limited First Issue, distinguished by its white commemorative lettering and dates.
Apparently, collectors liked it.
A lot.
The First Issue sold out quickly and is no longer available from Huntzman.
And because it was specifically produced as a limited run, we made the decision not to simply reproduce it once it was gone.
Limited should mean limited.
Introducing the Second Issue
Instead, the next production received a subtle but noticeable change to give it an identity of its own.
The Second Issue retains the original artwork but replaces the white commemorative lettering and dates with gold.
It may sound like a small change, but visually it gives the patch a warmer, more ceremonial appearance. The additional gold also complements the central 250 YEARS designation and surrounding anniversary elements particularly well.
More importantly for collectors, it provides an easy way to distinguish the two releases:

The First Issue has officially passed into Huntzman history, but the Second Issue 5-inch woven patch is currently available in the Huntzman Shop.
Honoring 250 Years
From the birth of the United States in 1776 to the New York City skyline of 2026, two and a half centuries represent an extraordinary span of American history.
This patch was our way of bringing a little of that history together in a single design—recognizing the nation’s milestone while paying tribute to the history, traditions and generations of New York’s Finest.
And to those collectors who managed to grab one of the white-lettered First Issues before they disappeared…
You got there before everybody else. Hold onto it.
